Notes:

  • This feature was added with the 2025.5 software release.

  • You must have a Wi-Fi connection to back up files to a cloud service.

  • This process automatically backs up a customized vocabulary file immediately after you edit it.

  • A backup keeps the latest three versions of a file.

If you haven’t set up automatic backups for customized files yet, or if you skipped this step when you first opened the app, follow the instructions below.

Set Up Automatic Backups

  1. In the app, select Vocab and Choose New Vocab.

  2. Select Automatic Backup.

  3. Enter a backup folder name and select Save.

Note: You must enter and save a folder name before you can proceed. Enter letters and numbers only; no special characters or spaces.

  4. Select a cloud service to link to the app.

  5. Sign in to the cloud service. You should return to the list of vocabularies on your device.

  6. If you want to make an initial backup of all customized vocabulary files currently on the device, select the blue Backup button at the top of the window.

  7. Each time you edit a customized vocabulary, the changes will be saved automatically in the automatic backup folder.

Restore a Customized File

When a file is saved in the automatic backup folder, “Restore” appears after the file name. To restore a customized file to your list of vocabularies, select Restore.

When the file is restored to your list of vocabularies, a checkmark will replace “Restore” after the file name in the automatic backup folder.
