Change Button Images

There are several different ways you can change the image on a button: search for symbols, select an image from a library, import an existing photo, use the camera to take a new photo or select an AI-generated image (see Use AI to Generate Images for Buttons).

Search for Symbols

Note: When searching for symbols, your search will be based on the current vocabulary language, not the device language. For example, if you are in a Spanish vocabulary, your device doesn't need to be set to Spanish to get accurate search results.

Select Menu and Edit Page.
Select the button and select Edit This Button.
Select Select Image to open a list of image libraries
Select the search icon in the top right corner.
Enter an image name or description.
Select Search. Image names will be listed with preview images.
Select the image you want.
Select Save.
Select Done to exit edit mode.

Select an Image from a Library

Select Menu and Edit Page.
Select the button and select Edit This Button.
Select Select Image to open a list of image libraries.
Select an image library.
Image names will be listed with preview images.
Note: Some libraries will display a list of image categories.
Scroll through the images and select the one you want.
Select Save.
Select Done to exit edit mode.

Import an Existing Photo

This option provides access to pictures that have already been taken and saved on the device.

Select Menu and Edit Page.
Select the button and select Edit This Button.
Select Import Photo. Photos saved on your device will be displayed.
Note: At the top of this window, you can select albums to view collections of photos or use the search field to find photos by name.
Select the photo you want and select Use.
Enter a name for the image and select .
Select Save.
Select Done to exit edit mode.

Use the Camera to Take a Photo

Select Menu and Edit Page.
Select the button and select Edit This Button.
Select Use Camera.
Select the camera button.
Select Use Photo and enter a name for the image.
Select and Save.
Select Done to exit edit mode.

Use Static Symbols to Keep Images Consistent

A static symbol on a button does not change from one sequence level to another in a vocabulary. You may want to use static symbols to reduce the complexity of learning additional symbols.

To use static symbols

Select Menu > Vocabulary Settings and scroll to the Buttons section.
Toggle ON Static symbols.
