TouchGuide Instructions

These instructions apply to Accent® devices.

TouchGuides add shallow oval openings for subtle distinction between button icon locations to support touch access on speech generating devices. TouchGuides do not open on a hinge and must be removed to access the device programming menus.

Attaching the TouchGuide

Note: The TouchGuide attaches to the frame on Accent devices. If you removed the frame, reattach it before following the instructions to attach the TouchGuide. Although your device may look different from the device shown below, the steps to attach the TouchGuide are the same.

  1. Align the TouchGuide so that the two squares at the top are positioned at the upper right corner of the display. Insert the bottom tab into the slot.

  1. With the bottom tabs in place, lift upward with your fingers to bend the top right corner of the TouchGuide slightly and insert the tab into the top right slot of the frame.

Note: The TouchGuide plastic is stiff and may require some effort to bend.

  2. Then insert the bottom tabs of the TouchGuide into the slots at the bottom edge of the frame.

  3. To make sure the TouchGuide fits flat against the screen, push down on the TouchGuide in each of the four corners to seat it into the rubber completely.

Tip: Pulling up on the corners of the frame slightly while pushing down on the TouchGuide corners also helps to nestle the TouchGuide into the rubber.

Removing the TouchGuide

  1. Grasp the thicker plastic above the first row of keyholes. Avoid pulling on the thin pieces of plastic.

  1. Pull out and down on the TouchGuide until the upper tabs pop out.
