Vocabulary Builder is a feature that allows you to hide all the words in the app except for the ones you choose to teach. Although it is a powerful teaching tool, it is recommended that the device user have some time to explore the system with Vocabulary Builder turned off.
Vocabulary Builder Window
From the app, select Menu and Vocab Builder. The Vocab Builder window opens.

On/Off
Select the On/Off toggle to turn Vocabulary Builder on or off. When Vocabulary Builder is turned on, only buttons for the words selected will appear. When you turn the setting off, all the hidden words can be seen again.
Save
Save the words currently displayed as a list. See “Save a List to a New Folder”.
Load
Open a default list or custom list previously saved.
Restore Lists
Restore all default lists for the app.
Share
Export the current list to AirDrop, an email app, or another available app. The list will be attached as a text file to the app you select.
Keyboard
Enable or disable access to the entire Keyboard page in the vocabulary when Vocabulary Builder is turned on. When the keyboard toggle is off, you can only access the keyboard buttons enabled in Vocabulary Builder. When the keyboard toggle is on, you can access the vocabulary’s entire keyboard page.
Word Finder
Enable or disable to the Word Finder feature in the vocabulary when Vocabulary Builder is turned on.
Hide/Show Words in Vocab
Use this feature to quickly hide or show words in a vocabulary. When selected:
Most vocab buttons will be hidden (grayed out)—except those that are always visible.
Buttons currently in the Vocab Builder list are highlighted.
The Vocab Builder navigation bar buttons will change as follows:
Save saves your changes and goes back to Vocab Builder menu.
Show All shows all buttons in the vocabulary.
Hide All hides all buttons in the vocabulary.
Home returns to the home page.
Selecting a button navigates to the next page. If the button does not navigate, selecting it toggles between the path and the button.
As buttons are selected, they are highlighted or hidden.
Edit
Delete a word from the current list. See Delete a Word from a List.
Clear
Remove all words from the current list. When you select Clear, a message asks, “Are you sure you want to delete all items?” Select OK to clear the list.
Add a new word
Enter a word to add to the current list.
Done
Select Done when you finish adding words to the current list. The vocabulary page with the selected words displayed will open in place of editing view.
Create a New Word List
Create a list of words that you want to appear on the vocabulary page.
Tap in the “Add a new word” field to open the keyboard.
As you type, suggested words appear below the field.
Note: When the word you are searching for has multiple paths, the image paths will appear for you to select. For example:

When you see the word or path you want, select it to add it to the list.
Note: If you type a word that is not in the current vocabulary, it will not be added to the list.
Continue adding words until the list includes all the words you want to appear on the vocabulary page.
Select Done when you finish adding words to the current list. The vocabulary page opens with only the words you selected displayed.
Delete a Word from a List
Select Edit. “Edit” will change to “Done”. A red
icon will appear in front of each word on the list.Select the red
icon for the word you want to delete. A Delete button will appear after the word.Select Delete to remove the word from the list
Note: You can also swipe left on a word to delete it.
Select Done above the words to hide the Delete icons and remain in editing view.
Note: If you select Done in the upper right corner, you will exit editing view and display the vocabulary page with the words you selected.
Save a List
At any time, you can save the words currently displayed as a list.
Select Save to open the iPad® screen for storing lists. The screen will open to the App folder—in this example, LAMP WFL.

Select “Exported text”.
Note: “Exported List” is the default name for the text file that will be exported from the list.
Rename the exported file.
Select Save to save the text file to the app folder.
