Turning the Screen Display On/Off

When using the device on a daily basis, tap the power button quickly—do not hold it— to turn only the screen display on (wake it up) and off (put it to sleep).

Waking the Screen from Sleep Mode

Three options are available to wake the screen after tapping the power button to put the device to sleep or allowing the display to turn off automatically after a timeout.

Option 1: Tap the power button quickly.

Option 2: Press a switch plugged into the device.

Option 3: Double-tap the screen.

Double-tap to wake the screen is turned on by default in the Android settings. If you need to disable or re-enable this setting, open the Android Settings, select Advanced features, and then Motions and gestures. Find the setting “Double tap to turn on screen” and select the on/off button to toggle the setting on or off.

Changing the Screen Timeout Setting

The screen display is set up to turn off (go to sleep) automatically after a specified period of no activity. To change the period of delay between the last key press or screen touch and the automatic screen timeout, go to Menu > Application Settings > System > Display Settings > Screen Timeout and choose the appropriate setting.
